2nd AIPGE Inter-Government Bowling Tournament

The Association of Iloilo Provincial Government Employees (AIPGE) successfully held the Opening Ceremony of the 2nd AIPGE Inter-Government Bowling Tournament on October 22, 2025, at the St. Elizabeth Bowling Alleys, Valeria Street, Iloilo City. The event brought together participants from various government agencies, namely: Iloilo City Government (ICG), Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC), Metro Pacific Iloilo Water (MPIW-MIWD), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Department of Agriculture (DA), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), and the Iloilo Provincial Government (IPG).

The program starts at 6:00 p.m. with an Opening Prayer led by Ms. Melody Gomez, AIPGE Board of Director, followed by Welcome Remarks delivered by Ms. Ma. Airis S. Penetrante, AIPGE President. The Oath of Sportsmanship was administered by Mr. Edgar Piansay, AIPGE Board of Director and Chair of the Committee on Sports. The ceremony was warmly hosted by Ms. Caryl “Tata” Belo from the Iloilo City Government, who kept the evening lively and engaging.

The tournament proper is scheduled to run from October 24 to December 3, 2025 (every Wednesday and Friday at 6PM), culminating in the Championship Game, Awarding, and Closing Ceremony. The event aims to foster fellowship, fitness, and public service among government employees across Iloilo. It welcomes participants from both national government agencies (NGAs) and local government units (LGUs) within the Province and City of Iloilo, regardless of employment status.

More than just a sports event, the AIPGE Bowling Tournament serves as a platform to strengthen inter-agency camaraderie, promote health, teamwork, and sportsmanship, and build meaningful connections beyond the workplace. In line with AIPGE’s commitment to service, this year’s tournament also supports the GIDA (Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas) Gift-Giving Initiative, an outreach program for “Balay PagBag-o”, bringing joy and hope to underprivileged communities this Christmas season.

The opening ceremony truly set the tone for an exciting and meaningful tournament — a celebration of unity, sportsmanship, and shared service among the dedicated public servants of Iloilo.
